Krista Dickson

Krista (she/hers) was born and raised in Texas.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Gallaudet University.  In the past, she has been involved in many different kinds of jobs such as Resident Assistant, Social Media specialist and served as President of the Alpha Sigma Theta Sorority, and  President of the Greek Panhellenic Council. She interned for Public Defender Services in Washington, D.C. working with the Resource Coordinator and several different departments within PDS.

Krista is honored to work for DOVE. Krista started as the Resource Advocate, and is currently the Rural Outreach Coordinator. Her responsibilities include monitoring and responding to our 24-hour crisis line, providing outreach to rural survivors, community members and organizations, supporting DOVE programming including community education workshops and social media.  Krista’s main goal is to promote more awareness regarding diversity, intersectionality, LGBTQIA+, and social justice within and outside DOVE.

In her free time, Krista likes to keep up with baseball, write short stories, and play Pokemon Go.
