Damita Bookman

Damita Bookman is from Los Angeles California and serves as the Survivor Support Specialist with DOVE. Damita has a Bachelor Degree in Psychology, with a focus on Child Development and Mental Health from the Northern Illinois University.

It is her goal to educate and spread awareness to Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing communities about domestic and sexual violence. It is her desire to  grow and spread awareness about DOVE programs and services. Damita also wants to provide ongoing educational and outreach support towards the Colorado BIPOC communities by organizing educational events and workshops. Damita shares she is fully invested in her community and she loves that she is working with a team that shares the same values.

On her personal time, outside of work, Damita enjoys cooking various healthy foods with her family. She loves to participate in outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, traveling, and sports.
