Get Support

You are NOT alone.

There are ways to get help. It may feel overwhelming or impossible. These are normal things to feel, but remember that you do not deserve abuse. You have the choice to get help. You also have the choice to change your mind at any time after receiving help and/or information.

Reach out to a DOVE advocate.

Visit our Contact Us page here to find out all the different ways you can get connected. We have a 24-hour crisis line (303-831-7874 or hotline@deafdove.org).

Remember that our services are free and confidential. We believe in empowerment, which means we understand that this is your journey. You have the right to make your own decisions, and we will never judge you.

Connect with people you trust.

Maybe you have a relative, a co-worker, a friend, or a counselor that you feel comfortable with. Tell them what’s going on. You deserve to have a support system. Sometimes people in your life may make negative comments, or act like they don’t believe you. If this happens to you, remember: you do not deserve abuse, no matter what people may think or say.

You have the right to receive services from any domestic violence and/or sexual assault agency that you choose.

If you prefer to seek services elsewhere, please visit the list of Colorado DV/SA agencies maintained by Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence here. You can also seek support from The Initiative, which serves people of all disabilities in Colorado here.
