I am a full time retiree! Prior to retiring, I worked as a Communication Access Advocate for the Eastern Washington Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Spokane, WA for 10 years before returning to Denver in 2013. Before moving to Spokane in 2002, I worked as a Mental Health Therapist for 15 years at Mental Health Center of Denver. I am one of the five founders of DOVE and want to continue working with DOVE to ensure that our Deaf and hard of hearing community has communication access to services during some difficult times of their lives. Even though I am retired, I still volunteer my time with different Deaf organizations - this keeps me invigorated as well as having fun working with some great people! My hobbies include playing with my three pets, vegetable gardening, traveling and keeping in contact with friends and family all over the country through social media!
My advice to survivors - "Never give anyone permission to make you feel bad." This is one of my favorite quotes from Eleanor Roosevelt.
